Jim joined Phase One late in 2005, bringing
almost 20-years of professional experience to our team. Jim’s
background includes commercial real estate brokerage, corporate
real estate acquisitions, business development as a director of
an ENR Top-400 Construction Company and project management.
Jim began his career with CB Commercial (now
CB Richard Ellis) in 1988. At CB, Jim was a senior associate within
the company’s institutional services group concentrating on
multifamily properties. Jim specialized in relationships with large
institutional clients and REITS.
After leaving CB, Jim joined a national health
care company as a real estate acquisitions manager responsible for
the land acquisition, entitlement and due diligence for their assisted
living subsidiary. In his position, Jim was also responsible for
environmental work reviews and work plans as well as neighborhood
group presentations. Jim traveled throughout the United States helping
to assemble a portfolio of almost $100 million.
Just prior to joining Phase One, Jim was a project manager
for a small design-build firm, responsible for the infrastructure,
site development and the first phase of construction of a mixed-use,
infill project in the city of Santa Fe. A New Mexico native, Jim
received a BA from the University of New Mexico.
Jim is a past director of the New Mexico Chapter
of NAIOP and a past member of the Bernalillo County Open Space and
Trails and Committee. He lives in Santa Fe with his wife and daughters
and enjoys most things outdoors, including road and mountain biking,
trail running, skiing and hiking. Jim is a mayoral appointee to the City of Santa Fe’s Bicycle and Trails Advisory Committee (BTAC). Jim represents the city’s Southside and is an advocate for neighborhood connectivity and access. BTAC acts as a subcommittee of the city council and advises the council regarding trail planning, engineering and funding.
Recognizing his client’s need for assistance with the non-brokerage aspects of their real estate and development projects, Jim formed Realty Diligence LLC late in 2007. Realty Diligence is a third-party provider of real estate and development services specializing in Project Management, Due Diligence Services, Entitlement Work, Permitting and Consulting. Realty Diligence serves clients locally and nationally.
