Having visited Santa Fe regularly since 1980,
Mr. Maremont decided in the Fall of 2003 to move here with his wife
and continue his 30 plus year career in commercial real estate.
Early in 2004 he completed his educational requirements for a New
Mexico broker’s license (in addition to Illinois and Indiana)
and completed his move later in the year.
A long time resident of Chicago, Mr. Maremont
started his own real estate services company there in 1974. Over
the years he and associates under his direction both instigated
and participated in hundreds of brokerage and consulting assignments
in both the private and public sectors. His client list includes
such diverse organizations as the American College of Surgeons,
Bogner USA, City of Gary, Indiana, Episcopal Diocese of Chicago,
JMB Urban Development, MidAmerica Bank of Chicago,Miglin/Beitler
Companies, Museum of Contemporary Art, Pizza Hut of America, Inc.,
Starbucks Coffee and U.S. Equities, Inc.
During his years in Chicago, he served on a
number of charitable, civic and social boards of directors. He was
an organizer and director of the Columbia Natioanl Bank of Chicago
1962 until 1998 at which time the bank was sold.
Mr. Maremont is a 1954 graduate of the University
of Missouri with an AB in Economics. More recently, he was appointed
adjunct lecturer in the Business Institutions Progam of the Weinberg
College of Arts & Sciences at Northwestern University in Evanston,
Illinois where he originated and taught a course in entrepreneurship
to senior undergraduates for six years ending in 2004.
Since arriving in New Mexico, he became the founder of what is now Zia Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, the international land economics society, an honorary group for individuals involved in all aspects of land use in the private and public sector. |
